Medicaid MCO health plan information

An MCO (managed care organization) is a health plan that provides your physical health and some behavioral health medical benefits. OhioRISE provides specialized behavioral health benefits for children and youth. Contact your MCO to learn more about your physical healthcare benefits. Also, your OhioRISE care coordinator is available to help you understand and access these benefits, including arranging for transportation.

Services your Medicaid MCO covers

Your MCO provides benefits for your physical health. It also covers things like rides to healthcare visits and other general health benefits. To see a list of covered services, just check your MCO member handbook.

 

 

Rides

 

Do you need to travel 30 miles or more from home to see a provider? If so, your MCO can help you get rides to and from the provider’s office. These trips need to be for a medically necessary appointment. Contact your MCO for more information.

 

Non-emergency transportation (NET)

 

You may also be able to get rides to other resources and services. To learn more about NET services, just contact your county at the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS).
