Renew your coverage on time
Watch for a renewal notice from the Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) in the mail. You’ll get it about the same time of year as when you first applied for benefits.

To renew, you’ll need to provide info about yourself and your family members. Here’s a list of things you may need to include with your application:
- Your most recent pay stubs with your gross wages, or a letter from your employer on company letterhead with your gross wages
- Proof of any other form of income (self-employment, rental, alimony, etc.)
- Names and birthdates of all members in your house
- Social Security numbers of all members in your house
- Info on other health insurance you may have

Online
Just log in or create an Optum GovID at WV Path.
By phone
Members should contact the DHHR Customer Service Center at 877-716-1212 concerning their renewals. They can also contact the Customer Service Center to make changes to their information.
By mail
Complete the form that comes with your renewal letter. Mail it using the prepaid envelope.
In person
Check your renewal letter. It’ll have a date and time for you to renew coverage at your local DHHR office or with your caseworker. If the date and time don't work for you, call DHHR to reschedule. If you don't get a letter, call or visit your local DHHR office. If you’re visiting, call beforehand to make sure your site is open.

After you renew, make sure that any info we have from you stays current. This allows you to keep the coverage you already have. Your info may include your address, employment status and other details, like family household.

Report to DHHR
- Online: Log in or create an Optum GovID at WV Path. Then, choose My Changes to report any changes to your info.
- By phone: Call 1-877-716-1212 to contact your DHHR caseworker. You can call Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.
Notify Member Services (Medicaid and CHIP members only)

Enroll a newborn baby
If you just had a newborn baby, you’ll need to enroll them into benefits. After your baby is born, call the DHHR Change Center at 1-877-716-1212. Your baby will be eligible for benefits for a minimum of 60 to 90 days, starting on the first day of their birth. This helps ensure they’ll get all the care they need.
